Jean Pormanove

Jean Pormanove was a French streamer known for high-impact live shows and an impulsive on-camera style that blended gaming with increasingly extreme challenges. He began his public activity in 2020 with gaming content (Fortnite, GTA V, FIFA) and, after moving to Kick in 2023, consolidated his presence with multi-day marathons and reality-like livestream formats. By August 2024 he ranked among the platform’s most-watched creators, reaching fourth worldwide and first among French streamers. His notoriety also rose through frequent on-air interactions with other creators, especially Owen “Naruto” Cenazandotti and Safine Hamadi, in broadcasts centered on humiliation-based segments.

On August 18, 2025, he died live on air during an approximately twelve-day marathon on Kick, triggering widespread public shock. In the preceding months, audiences had watched recurring on-camera abuse directed at him by other participants. The autopsy released on August 22 found no traumatic injuries and pointed to medical or toxicological causes, while the Nice prosecutor opened a judicial investigation to determine liability and assess possible offenses such as abuse of weakness. Kick temporarily suspended the involved accounts. Both Owen “Naruto” Cenazandotti and Safine Hamadi denied causing his death, arguing the stunts were “consensual.”

The case sparked an international debate about the limits of livestream entertainment and platform moderation. Industry figures like Adin Ross announced an intention—together with rapper Drake—to cover funeral expenses, while French authorities signaled regulatory action and formal requests to the platform. Beyond the controversy, Pormanove’s trajectory since 2020 and his 2023 move to Kick made him a widely recognized name in French-language streaming, leaving a legacy that spotlights creator safety and platform responsibility.
