Sanjana Sanghi

Indian actress recognised for playing Kizie Basu in Dil Bechara, a romantic drama that marked her first leading role and expanded her international profile. She has also appeared in Rashtra Kavach Om, Dhak Dhak, Kadak Singh and Woh Bhi Din The after beginning her career as a child performer in Rockstar and taking supporting roles in productions including Hindi Medium and Fukrey Returns.

She was discovered by casting director Mukesh Chhabra while performing in a school play and made her screen debut during her teenage years. She balanced her early film work with studies at Modern School and later graduated in Journalism from Lady Shri Ram College for Women. During university, she received academic-excellence honours and achieved the highest Journalism marks in her graduating class.

She trained in kathak dance and participated actively in debating and stage activities, experiences she has connected with the confidence required to work before cameras. Alongside acting, she serves as a UNDP India Youth Champion, promoting social entrepreneurship, youth innovation, equality and the Sustainable Development Goals. She also joined the distinguished judges panel for the United Nations Young Leaders for the SDGs initiative.

She is the daughter of Sandeep Sanghi and Shagun Sanghi and has an older brother named Sumer. She has described her family as a decisive influence on her education and career, particularly during the years when she had to balance examinations, rehearsals and filming outside Delhi.

Her career is closely connected with Mukesh Chhabra, who discovered her and later directed her in Dil Bechara. She starred opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in that film and has also worked with Ranbir Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
